40,000 children in Greenville County do not know where one or more of their meals
will come from each day. Hunger can lead to difficulties concentrating in class,
frequent colds and a host of other negative consequences. Help make sure every kid in Greenville County has enough to eat everyday by hosting
a"Pennies from Peanut Butter" campaign.
It's easy to participate! Children and youth
are asked to fill empty peanut butter jars with pennies (and all the other spare
change) they can find. Through this program, students will learn that a small
donation goes a long way. A 16 ounce jar holds approximately 800 pennies. For every $8 donated, Loaves & Fishes will deliver $101.36 in retail food
value.
